Corner Defence Rules
Basic Game Rules:
1. All games are played on 'CornerDefence' map with 4 players.
2. The game is speedball, so keep your mouse button down all the time and don't hold the ball.
3. The player who conceded the previous point starts with the ball at the ball spawn. The player must shoot the ball for the game to be active, this does not include a player moving the ball with his gravity without shooting it.
4. The game is played to 10 points, the first player to reach 10 points is eliminated and is in the 4th place, the second in 3rd, etc.
5. After a player is eliminated, the other players continue playing until there's only player one left (the winner).
6. In the first point of the game, and in the first point after a player is eliminated, the ball is free for all.
7. After every pause the game must be respawned with the player who conceded the last point starting with the ball. If no one can remember who conceded the last point, the player who requested the pause will start.
8. Before the game starts it must be randomised.
9. When there are only two players left in the game, each player must be diagonally opposite to the other. If they are not, one player must switch so that they are. This can be decided by the player with the most points having to switch. If scores are even and neither player wishes to switch teams, they must play a point to decide who must switch (the winner decides who switches; the point does not count towards the player's score). A player can only switch horizontally (e.g. red to yellow, green to blue, etc.).
Fouls and Other Game Rules:
1. If someone holds the ball (they do not shoot the ball immediately), they must score an own goal and will be the first to get the ball next.
2. If someone gets the ball at the ball spawn when it is not their turn, they must score an own goal and will be the first to get the ball next.
3. If someone scores on an empty goal where a player was eliminated, they must score an own goal and will be the first to get the ball next.
4. If someone's goal is scored on when another player should have scored an own goal, their score limit will increase by one each time (e.g. first time they will play to 11, second time 12, etc.).
5. If someone suddenly stops controlling their ship and holds or is scored on and then comes back and says they got a pop-up: if they held - respawn, if they were scored on - they play to 11, etc.
6. If there is a server spike for at least 3 players and someone is left holding the ball, the point is respawned and played again. If someone is scored on during a spike, they will play to 11, etc.
7. If someone leaves mid-game or stops controlling their ship without saying where they have gone, you must wait at least 2 minutes incase they were disconnected. If they don't show up after 2 minutes, the game continues, and the user is eliminated.
8. It is not permitted for a player to switch teams at any time unless it is to be diagonally opposite to a player when there are two players left.
CornerDefense2 Map Rules:
All rules are the same as above except for the following:
If someone scores on an empty goal where a player was eliminated, it is ignored and play continues. This means that a player does not have to score an own goal.
If a player holds the ball, they must score on their own goal outside the arena, NOT ON THEIR BUMPER GOAL!
Site Rules:
It will be required that all participants in games are registered and activated users on this site. A list of such users can be found on either the leaderboard page or the player stats page. If a player who is not registered participates, the game will be null and void and will not be reported (the same goes for banned users participating).
As some people lack the common sense to realise the blatancy of the following: YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED ONE ACTIVATED ACCOUNT ON THIS SITE. MORE THAN ONE WILL BE CONSIDERED SMURFING AND YOU MAY BE BANNED FOR A LONG TIME!
REPEAT: DO NOT PLAY CD LEAGUE GAMES WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT ON THE REGISTERED USERS LIST!
In addition to this, you must play on the name you have registered on this site.
Name spoofing will not be tolerated. Stick to your own name and don't copy someone else's!
YOU MUST REPORT GAMES AS SOON AS YOUR GAME IS FINISHED. IF THE GAME IS NOT REPORTED WITHIN 10 MINUTES AFTER THE GAME, YOU MAY FIND YOURSELF BANNED!
Registered users will also be invited to join the CD-R channel where players can arrange games and chat the day away!
As this league has no refs in game, this small section is very important in understanding how games are reported.
Anyone can host games, no refs are required to do so.
Every player in the game MUST report the game on the site. This is simply done by selecting the names of the players from the drop down list in the order each player finished.
If a game is not fully reported, it is in your best interest to find the player(s) who didn't report and get them report. Refs will not constantly run around after people and report games for them. An exception to this is if 3 players have reported and the other cannot be found or refuses to report.
In the event of a player not reporting, it is possible for a ref to report the game for that player. A list of refs can be found in the CD or CD-R channels.
Events that will not be tolerated:
1. Consistent failure to report will be rewarded with a 5 day ban.
2. Frequently leaving unfinished games will not be tolerated and will result in a ban.
3. Purposely disrupting games will not be tolerated and will result in a ban.
4. Submitting fake or bogus reports will not be tolerated and may be rewarded with a ban for the entire season.
5. If you are caught teaming in a game by a ref, or if there is sufficient evidence to prove you have teamed or are planning to team, you will be banned for no less than 20 days with 500 points deducted from your score. Teaming includes any combination of the following: a) persistent blocking for another player. b) defending another player's corner. c) repeatedly not shooting at a player's open goal. d) purposely not shooting at a particular player throughout one or more games. e) helping a player go for another player.
Seasons will last one month each and will be fully automated, with the top stats archived for each season, along with the top 3 players.
How the Scores Work:
$score1 = Player1's current score
$score2 = Player2's current score
$dr = ($chess1 - $chess2)
$finalscore = intval((30.0 * (1.0 - 1.0 / (pow (10.0, -$dr / 400.0) + 1.0))) / 3)
$finalscore is then added to the winner's score and subtracted from the loser's score, but this done for all players in the game as follows:
4th place has a loss reported to all players in the game.
3rd place has a loss reported to 1st and 2nd place.
2nd place has a loss reported to 1st place.
Enjoy the league, and most importantly of all: don't break any rules!
